The Resource Library, along with the Foundation and CELA offices, is housed at 55 University Avenue, Suite 1500, in Toronto, Ontario. Materials are incorporated into a shared library space among eight co-located specialty legal clinics.
You can search our catalogue online, then visit us in person to use the material in person.
Please call 416-960-2284 or click on our “visit us” page to inquire further about access to the library collection. We are open to the public.
The CELA Foundation and CELA have built this collection since 1970. It currently contains approximately 7000 essential publications on environmental law and policy in Ontario and Canada and some international materials.
This assemblage of resources is unique. Many of these publications and government documents can be found nowhere else. The collection comprises books, periodicals, reports, and more, from 1970 – when the Canadian environmental movement began – to the present.
Thanks to support from Legal Aid Ontario, the physical library is funded through 2024. The Foundation welcomes donations or pledges for long-term financial support for the library and the digital archives.
